THEATRE PLAY




-Narrator: One terrible, stormy night, a loud sound on the front door of the castle wakes everybody up.
(KNOCK, KNOCK)
-Queen: Who can it be at this unearthly hour?
-King: I do not know, dear. Go and wake the Prince up, in case we need his sword.
(The Queen leaves and the King goes to the door)
-King: Who is it at this unearthly hour?
(He puts the ear to the door and the Queen arrives with the Prince)
-Prince (sword in hand): Father, here I am. Do you need my sword?
-King (smiling): I think we are not going to need it. (He opens the door where a girl is standing)
-King: Come, darling, it is freezing outside.
-Girl: Thank you for your hospitality. I am the Princess of Greenland. I was riding my horse when he storm starts. I lost my horse and my path in the night.
-Prince: Welcome Princess! I am sure you can spend the night here. Tomorrow I am going to guide you home.
-Queen: Wait a minute! Can I speak to you both?
(The King, the Queen and the Prince make a little circle, heads together)
-King: Do you hear that, dear? She is a princess!
-Prince: And a really beautiful one, mother.
-Queen: She does not look like a Princess.
-King: Dear, it is raining cats and dogs outside. It is normal that she looks a little bit... messed up.
-Prince: Please, mother. She can stay here tonight and we can take her home tomorrow and see if it is true, or not.
-Queen (smiling): Mmmm... we do not have that much time...I can discover that tonight!
