THEATRE PLAY

(Jack´s mom is on stage, looking for something. She even looks in the audience)

-Jack´s mom: Have you seen Jack? -(Without waiting and screaming)- Jack! Oh, for Good sake, where is this lazy boy? Jack!
She continues on her searching while we can see Jack peeping out of a table.
-Jack: Is she gone? Oh, thanks God! She wanted to take me to school. And I hate it! It is so boring and tiring, don´t you think? I prefer to relax and do nothing all day long.
(He lays on the table and closes his eyes. A man appears on scene)
-Man: (to the audience) Oh, look at that poor and lazy boy. He is not in the school, so he hardly knows anything. I think I can cheat him.
-Man: (Now approaching Jack) Hello, dear fellow!
(Meanwhile, in the other part of the stage, Jack´s mom is talking to her neighbour)
-Jack´s mom: This lazy boy of mine! He must go to school.
-Neighbour: Has he disappeared again?
-Jack´s mom: You can bet that! He does not understand the importance of going to the school. It seems like he wants to be a fool all his life.
-Neighbour: He is only a kid…
-Jack´s mom: Let me find it! And he will fly to school.
(The man has approached Jack and he is smiling to him)
-Man: Don´t you like school, then?
-Jack: I think it is completely not necessary.
-Man: Unnecessary, of course.
-Jack: I am old enough to work on the farm. But my mom doesn´t want me to. She says that I need to know language and mathe… mathe…
-Man: Maths?
-Jack: That is! Did you go to school when you were my age?
-Man: (Proudly) To the best one! But you don´t need that. There is nothing useful in going to school.
-Jack: Right!  I can know maths by counting sheep, language by speaking with the shepherd and geography… what is that?
-Man: Learning about the world, countries, continents, other people and its culture…
-Jack: Well, I am not going to go anywhere, so I do not need that geography.
-Man: Well boy, everybody needs to learn…
